Amil Chapter of the National Youth Society of  Honor

The National Youth Honor Society is a national organization that began to be organized in the United States in 1920. Its purpose is to bring together 7th, 8th and 9th grade students, where through activities inside and outside of the school can develop as self-confident people, leaders and beings concerned about the well-being of our society. This Association arrived in Puerto Rico in 1961. Currently, the National Youth Honor Society of Puerto Rico, Corp. brings together all the affiliated Chapters at the island level.  

At the Academy, our Chapter was founded in the 1970s, functioning only as an Honor Roll. In August 1992 our Chapter became affiliated with what was then the Caribbean Association, adopting the name of Amil, thanks to the great effort and dedication of its founder and moderator until February 2008, Mr. Julio G. “Jerry ”Balbuena. Since then, our Chapter has stood out for many achievements, which has demonstrated the excellence of its members both in the past and in the present.  Currently its moderator is Mrs. Hilda Ramos.

The Amil Chapter is affiliated with the Puerto Rico National Youth Honor Society, Corp. and the National Association of Secondary Schools and Principals.
